We are pleased to announce that we appointed two new trustees in June 2016: Sarah Gooch and Judith Squarey.
Sarah was appointed to the Bench in Wiltshire in 1991and during her time as a magistrate, worked closely with the probation service. Sarah has always been interested in promoting the care and rehabilitation of offenders and is also involved in a Wiltshire Initiative which monitors and encourages Restorative Justice in the community.
Judith ran her own physiotherapy practice for 45 years and was married to an Anglican priest for 41 years. Her husband was involved with prisons and inevitably Judith became interested through his work. Judith has worked with several other charities including Riding for Disabled and has been involved in training sessions for the Clergy.
We welcome both Sarah and Judith to our trustee team.
We are running a transport service on visit days, from Devizes bus stops and/or Westbury train station to HMP Erlestoke. To access this service please contact Carol on 07721 932430 with the date and time the lift is required, the number of persons and where you would like to be picked up. Or you can book via email:
We will then let you know if we have a driver available. Drivers are volunteers and will have envelopes in their vehicle for a voluntary donation towards your journey.
If you have a concern about an offender following your visit, please call the prison on the 'Safer Custody' phone number: 01380 814373
