The Friends of Erlestoke Prison was established in 2011 to support offenders with the challenges of resettlement and rehabilitation. We fund projects which:

  • Help offenders face up to the impact of their crimes
  • Help offenders develop skills and behaviours which will help them to find employment
  • Bring fathers closer to their families, especially those with children
  • Improve prisoner health and well-being
  • Raise local awareness about the work of the prison

We have changed our charitable status from being an Unincorporated Trust to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). The new charity has been set up with the same name and Trustees, but with a different governing document and charity registration number.  Once we have transferred the assets from the old charity to the new one, the old charity will be dissolved and removed from the Charity Commission’s register.
