Simon Petchey, who has been a Trustee with the Friends since 2015, retired from the role at our November 2021 Trustee meeting. Simon's role was to oversee the governance aspects of the charity but his knowledge of the prison, following his previous role as Independent Monitoring Board Chair at HMP Erlestoke, was invaluable to our charity. Simon was a respected member of the Trustee team and his contribution will be sorely missed. We wish him well in his retirement.
We are pleased to announce the appointments of Sue Weber and Charles Atterton who have joined our trustee team. Sue has a wealth of experience in managing accounts in professional service organisations and in the charity sector. Sue has taken over from Mark Mangham as our Treasurer. Charles is a retired CEO of a national clothing retailer following an earlier career as an investment banker. Charles has joined our Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) team. We welcome them both to our charity in their new roles.
Thank you to everyone who bid in the Lockdown21 online auction which raised just over £2,300 and is a great boost to our funds. Congratulations to the winning bidders!
