We are pleased to announce that the Friends have been given an award from the High Sheriff of Wiltshire to recognise the services of our volunteers in the area of criminal justice. We have been awarded a grant of £500 to support our ongoing work with prisoners and their families.
The High Sheriff of Wiltshire, Penelope Marland has awarded the Friends of Erlestoke Prison an award to recognise and support our services to the community for our volunteering work in the area of criminal justice. The £500 grant comes from funds raised at The High Sheriff's Reception last summer. We are delighted to receive this award as recognition of the services that all our amazing volunteers continue to provide on a weekly basis.
Congratulations and thank you to Frank Smith!
Frank won the individual category of the Devizes Area Board Community Awards which recognises local volunteers. Frank was nominated for his work with the Friends since the charity was launched in 2012. Frank was involved in the Celebration of Christmas in 2012, the sponsored walk and mosaic project in 2013, Peter Woolf's talks and most recently has mentored a released prisoner. He has also recently agreed to be a driver for the Friends transport scheme.
